Cannabidiol (CBD) – A Potential Cure for Lyme Disease?

Lyme disease is caused by the bacterium Borrelia burgdorferi and is transmitted to humans through the bite of infected black-legged ticks. Typical symptoms include fever, headache, fatigue, and a characteristic skin rash called erythema migrans (Circular red rash with central clearing that slowly expands.). According to The Canadian Lyme Disease Foundation.. “Lyme disease is on the rise in Canada, yet diagnostics, treatment, physician and public awareness are largely inadequate!”

For many Canadians, living with Lyme Disease can be a daily struggle. There are over 100 symptoms that accompany Lyme, but one of the biggest challenges for those afflicted by this disease is finding accurate information and support.

Some Treatment options available at this time include:

  • Oral antibiotics
  • Intravenous antibiotics
  • Intramuscular antibiotics

Persistent infections and resistant bacteria can result in “Chronic Lyme Disease”, which must be treated with aggressive pulse therapy. This involves coordinating rounds of antibiotics with symptom flare-ups.

Sadly these treatments are not always 100% successful and do not come without side effects.

But now there may be some hope for Lyme Disease Sufferers.Dr. Ernie Murakami, believes that he has found a potential cure for Lyme disease and many other illnesses with non-psychotropic cannabidiol (CBD) paste.
