According to stats from The Canadian Mental Health Association

  • Mental illness indirectly affects all Canadians at some time through a family member, friend or colleague.

  • Mental illness affects people of all ages, educational and income levels, and cultures.

Depending on the type of mental health disorder conventional treatments are usually prescribed medication such as Antidepressants, Anti-anxiety and Mood-stabilizing medications which are not without negative side effects… As an alternative treatment… One study, suggests.. “The primary psychoactive ingredient in cannabis, delta-9-tetrahydrocannabinol (THC), has been shown to both acutely increase positive subjective effects and decrease amygdala reactivity to negative affective stimuli in humans.” Although more research is needed this study is very promising for those who suffer from mental illness disorders.
